EFFECT OF LINOLEIC ACID ADDITION ON THE CIS9-TRANS11-CONJUGATED LINOLEIC ACID CONTENT OF KEFIR

چکیده

Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and CLA isomers, present naturally in dairy meat products, are the natural functional components. Ruminal microorganisms, such as Butyrivibrio fibrosolvens, lactic bacteria (LAB), propionibacteria can convert (LA) to CLA. In this study, effect of different concentrations (0, 0.5, 1, 2%) storage time 2, 7, 14 21 days) on content kefir was investigated. The highest found day 0 sample which 0.5% LA added but there is no significant difference between control LA. On contrary, lowest belonged including 2% after days storage. results suggested that certain amounts could be used enhance properties kefir.

The effect of addition of linoleic acid on food intake regulation in linoleic acid tasters and linoleic acid non-tasters.

In a randomised, single blind, placebo-controlled crossover design study, we investigated whether healthy, non-smoking, dietary unrestrained women (n 24), divided into linoleic acid tasters (LAT, n 14) and linoleic acid non-tasters (LANT, n 10), differed in food intake regulation when linoleic acid was added to ice creams. The determination of subjects as LAT or LANT was done using a 10 microm-...

Conjugated Linoleic Acid

Conjugated linoleic acid, better known as CLA, is a fatty acid derived from the required nutrient, linoleic acid. The major structural difference between linoleic acid (an 18 carbon, polyunsaturated fatty acid) and CLA, is that linoleic acid has double bonds at carbons 9 and 12 in a cis configuration (methylene interrupted), while CLA has numerous isomers without methylene interrupted conjugate...

Dietary trans-vaccenic acid (trans11-18:1) increases concentration of cis9,transll-conjugated linoleic acid (rumenic acid) in tissues of lactating mice and suckling pups.

Lactating mice were fed trans-vaccenic acid (trans 11-18:1, TVA) to assess desaturation of TVA to cis9,trans11-conjugated linoleic acid (9/11CLA). Diets contained 30 g x kg(-1) 18:2n-6 (LA) or 20 g LA plus 10 g 18:0 (SA), TVA, or a CLA mixture (MCLA). Compared with SA, feeding TVA increased 9/11CLA concentrations in blood plasma phospholipid, triglyceride, and free fatty acid fractions. However...

Effect of Feeding Canola or Sunflower Seeds on Conjugated Linoleic Acid Enrichment in Cow’s Milk Fat

Two experiments studied the effects of canola or sunflower seed supplementation on conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) concentration in milk fat of lactating cows. In each experiment, only eight cows in early lactation were available to assign to one of two treatments in a completely randomized design and were fed individually for 12 wk. Experiment 1 compared similar diets with or without the additi...
